Jets Officially Announce Names Of Candidates For General Manager And Head Coach

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Jets have been doing their due diligence.

The team confirmed on Wednesday the names of all the candidates interviewed for the vacant general manager and head coaching positions.

It appears that the man the Jets will hire to replace fired GM John Idzik will have a solid player drafting and development background. The names of the executives the Jets have spoken to include Seattle pro personnel director Trent Kirchner, Miami director of college scouting Chris Grier, Houston director of college scouting Mike Maccagnan, Cleveland executive Bill Kuharich, Philadelphia pro personnel director Rick Mueller, and Jets interim GM Rod Graves.

The Jets announced Wednesday that owner Woody Johnson and consultants Charley Casserly and Ron Wolf had also scheduled an interview with Tampa Bay executive Jon Robinson.

As for the replacement for fired head coach Rex Ryan, the Jets interviewed both San Diego offensive coordinator Frank Reich and Arizona defensive coordinator Todd Bowles on Wednesday. Both are considered strong candidates for other head coach openings around the NFL.

In addition, the Jets confirmed that they have interviewed Seattle defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, Seattle assistant head coach/offensive line coach Tom Cable, former Buffalo head coach Doug Marrone and the Jets' assistant head coach/running backs coach, Anthony Lynn.
