1/18: CBS2 Evening Weather Headlines
Mark McIntyre Jr, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer
What a nasty mess of a day it's been! Some folks ended up with over 2" of rain, after an icy start this morning. Rain will taper off through the evening, clearing LI by midnight the latest. Still a damp & chilly night ahead with temps bottoming out in the low/mid 30s around town. One thing to look out for if you're on the road tonight - spots outside of NYC will have areas of black ice as temps drop below freezing.
For Martin Luther King Jr Day, it'll be dry, but also breezy. Northwest winds will be blowin' 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Tuesday will feature a sunny start with temps right around normal - 38 in NYC - and with more clouds late. Could have some flurries Tuesday evening before a weak clipper system brings light snow showers Wednesday. Probably a dusting to an inch for most.
