Fire Breaks Out Amid Blizzard Winds In Bayside, Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An extra-alarm fire ripped through a building in Bayside, Queens Monday evening, as a potentially historic blizzard swept into the Tri-State Area.

The fire was called in at 8:23 p.m. at 15-62 Waters Edge Dr. in Queens, authorities told CBS2.

The fire was later raised to a second alarm. No injuries were reported.

The blaze was under control by 10:20 p.m.

Winds approaching hurricane force were forecast for the blizzard sweeping into the area Monday night. The blizzard could dump as much as three to four feet of snow in some parts of the Tri-State Area.
