1/29 CBS2 Thursday Evening Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Hi everyone! An Alberta Clipper is knocking on the door of our area. Much of its energy is eroding as it heads east. Generally, a coating to 2 inches is likely.

During the morning commute, you could see some additional snow, especially east.

Temps will not drop too far down tonight. The south wind will keep us a bit milder even with the snowpack. A little mixing and some rain is possible south as temps will be closer 40 down the shore.

Temps will remain steady through midday then plummet. A brutal north wind drags frigid air down from the poles.

Waking up Saturday morning we will have some of the coldest air in a month. NYC should start the day around 10 degrees. Those north, in the negative digits.

Sunday is mostly sunny and still chilly.

We watch the west coast's storm track for Sunday into Monday. Could be plowable snow if it heads our way.

Check back soon for an update!
