Police: California Man Fatally Stuck By 2 Cars In Ridgewood, Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A 36-year-old California man was fatally struck by two cars Tuesday night in Queens, police said.

The collision happened just before 8 p.m. at Metropolitan Avenue and 62nd Street in Ridgewood.

Kamil Gorski, of San Marcos, California, was crossing a street when he was hit by a white van that fled the scene, police said.

The victim was struck by a second car while he was lying on the roadway. The driver of the second car remained at the scene.

Gorski suffered severe head trauma. He was pronounced dead at Elmhurst Hospital.

The driver of the first car, Raul Reyes, 53, of Brooklyn, was arrested on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, police said.

No information on an attorney for Reyes was available.
