Cops Say Couple Found Dead After Paterson Fire May Have Been Murdered

PATERSON, N.J. (AP) -- Police say a couple found dead after a fire in Paterson last year may have been victims of a homicide.

Twenty-four-year-old Jaclyn Pruyn and 45-year-old Eddie Nelson Diaz were found in the home they shared after a fire in November.

A dog also died in the blaze.

Police Capt. Heriberto Rodriguez said the two people died of ``unnatural causes.'' He would not tell The Record whether they were killed before the fire or by the blaze.

The Nov. 23 fire also damaged a neighboring home and displaced at least seven people.
