Police had been concerned for Tassello's safety after the car he was driving, a white 2008 Ford Escape, was one of five vehicles burned during a suspicious fire at the Tom's Ford dealership on Route 35 in Keyport on Tuesday morning.

"He's alive and well, and that will close the missing-persons portion of this case," Charles Webster, a spokesman for the Monthmouth prosecutor's office, told WCBS 880's Levon Putney.

Webster said no charges are pending in the case, but the investigation is ongoing.
