Phil Jackson Rips Knicks After 'Heartburn'-Inducing Loss

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Somebody get Phil Jackson an antacid -- ASAP.

The New York Knicks president ripped his team after Sunday's loss to the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers, tweeting that the Knicks' performance was bad enough to give the basketball gods "heartburn."

The 101-83 defeat at Madison Square Garden was made even more embarrassing by a vicious alley-oop from Iman Shumpert to J.R. Smith, two players Jackson traded away in January.

The depleted Knicks recently bought out the contract of forward Amar'e Stoudemire and will go the rest of the way without Carmelo Anthony, who had season-ending knee surgery last week.

This one was never close with New York down 24 points at halftime. It was their seventh straight loss, dropping the Knicks to an NBA-worst 10-45.

"It's the same thing occurring over and over," guard Tim Hardaway Jr. said. "It's nothing new."
