Weatherford announced the school was chosen for his second annual Project Prom, an essay contest that asks the students to write about taking a stand against bullying, 1010 WINS’ Rebecca Granet reported.
Five winners will be chosen and receive an all-inclusive prom evening. But all of the senior promgoers will get to party with Weatherford on the big day.
The students’ senior adviser John Barth said they can’t wait.
“Of course you’ve got all the girls going ‘Oh my God, ahhh,'” he said. “You know, so there’s this sense of excitement that was in the air.”
