Boomer & Carton: A Tie, A Ruling, A Message Sent And A Painful Reminder

Friday's Open

Apparently we have a tie for first between a couple of the hockey locals, as the Rangers and Islanders find themselves atop the Metropolitan Division. Well the Islanders have been there for a while, but Boomer was thrilled to see his Blueshirts accompanying them after Thursday's night's 4-3 win over the Coyotes.

With that said, after Wednesday's dust-up, the Booms vowed not to make Al Dukes crazy by talking about hockey for too long, so Craig took the lead back and got something off his chest with regards the NFL's handling of Adrian Peterson's pending reinstatement after a judge ruled in his favor Thursday.  Despite the ruling, the league continues to drag its feet.  Boomer is trying to make sense of why Peterson is pretty much being welcomed back with open arms, while Ray Rice can't get a sniff.

Moving right along to the sport of baseball, as the Mets manager Terry Collins kicked it up a notch while addressing his team for the first time in 2015, telling them to shut up and play.  Craig likes the 'cocky' the Mets players have displayed thus far, while uncle Boomer reminds us that there are no shortcuts to success.

Meanwhile over in Tampa, Alex Rodriguez took the field to a round of cheers and compared the feeling to going to Disney World, which Craig assumed upset Boomer when he heard it, based on the Blonde Bomber's inability to finish the job Super Bowl XXIII against Joe Montana and the 49ers, thus nixing his all expense paid trip to Disneyland.

So it's a Friday, time to start acting like it...
