Broken Rail Shuts Down C Train, Snags A Train Service In Upper Manhattan
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Uptown Manhattan residents had more problems to deal with than the snow and the sloppy conditions Wednesday afternoon.
A broken rail at 155th Street shut down the C Train altogether shortly after 3 p.m. The A Train was also partially shut down, with trains only running up to 145th Street, and running in a separate segment between 168th and 207th streets.
Southbound A Train commuters were directed to switch to the No. 1 train at 168th Street.
The A Train was also making all local stops between Euclid Avenue in East New York, Brooklyn and 145th Street, in lieu of C Train service.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority advised allowing additional travel time.
