2 Injured When Minibus Slides Down Embankment On Henry Hudson Parkway
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- One person was critically injured and another seriously injured when a minibus slid down an embankment near the George Washington Bridge Tuesday morning.
The accident took place at around 9 a.m. off exit 14 on the northbound side of the Henry Hudson Parkway, just off the George Washington Bridge.
Investigators say the driver of the patient transport van was apparently trying to make a U-turn when he lost control.

One of the two people on board had to be removed from the bus by emergency responders. Neither person's injuries are life-threatening, fire officials told WCBS 880's Peter Haskell.
Both were taken to St. Luke's Hospital.

A witness told CBS2's Dave Carlin the bus struck a light pole and skidded off the road down the embankment, crashing through a low rock wall.
The bus came to rest about 30 feet away from the road.
A witness said the van must have been going pretty fast to crash through the barrier wall, CBS2 reported.
"We have never seen a car run through that wall, never in our lives," Joe Vasquez, who lives in an apartment building with his brother just above the accident scene, told 1010 WINS' Derricke Dennis. "Maybe the ice made it slippery and he was probably just going too fast."
The NYPD is retracing the path of the bus and questioning the driver, Dennis reported.
