Signal Problems Cause Subway Delays During Evening Rush

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Signal problems snarled subway service in New York City just as the evening rush was kicking into high gear.

The signal problems between World Trade Center and Chambers Street early Tuesday evening had disrupted service on the A, C, E and F lines for more than an hour.

While the lines are now back to running on their normal tracks, the MTA said there are still delays on the A, B, C, D, E, F and G lines.

The No. 1 line has also resumed full service after a train with mechanical problems at 168th Street caused service to briefly terminate at 96th Street. Crowds of people could be seen on the 96th Street platform during the service disruption.
