NYPD: Man Told Victim 'I'm Going To Kill You White Boy' Before Queens Attack

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man needed multiple stitches after his throat was slashed during an unprovoked attack in Queens, police said.

The incident occurred around 2:20 a.m. Thursday near Seneca and Gates avenues in the Ridgewood section.

The 24-year-old victim was walking with his girlfriend when a man ran up to him and said "I'm going to kill you white boy" in Spanish, police said. The suspect then slashed the victim's throat with a razor, 1010 WINS' Carol D'Auria reported.

The suspect fled with a female acquaintance who acted as a lookout, police said.

The victim's family said the cut is so deep it hurts when he talks.

The victim did not know his attacker, police said.

The NYPD is investigating the attack as a hate crime.
