Missing Children From New Jersey Found Safe With Father In Florida

HOPATCONG, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Authorities said two missing children from New Jersey at the center of a custody dispute have been found safe in Florida with their father and his friend wanted in Tennessee on sex charges.

Police said 7-year-old Jaxon Dohm and 8-year-old Parker Dohm were found Wednesday night at the Royal Palm Inn in New Port Richey with their father, 36-year-old Kristopher Dohm of Hopatcong.

Dohm was taken to the Pasco County Jail. He's accused of interference with custody and unlawful flight.

Dohm was with Edward Tarras Jr., who was on Tennessee's 10 Most Wanted list after cutting off a tracking bracelet in August. Tarras faces nearly two dozen sex-related charges including sexual exploitation of a minor.

Authorities said Dohm's children were not harmed. The boys' mother, Sandra Dohm, said she is heading to Florida to meet her sons.

"My boys have been found and they are safe! I got the news just after midnight and am heading to Florida now to be reunited with them," she wrote in a Facebook post. "In just a few hours I will be hugging my boys again!!!!"

She also thanked police, family, friends and others for helping in the search.

Authorities said Dohm left New Jersey with the boys in violation of a custody agreement in early February.
