NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A woman was found dead under a subway train Monday on the elevated portion of the No. 1 line in Inwood, Manhattan.

Around 10:30 a.m., police were called to the 207th Street station, at 207th Street and Tenth Avenue, for a call of a person under a train.

Responding officers found that a 54-year-old woman had been struck by a southbound No. 1 train at the station, police said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The investigation into her death continued late Monday.
