Levittown Student Asks Friend To Prom With Help From Jets Players

LEVITTOWN, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- This was one touchdown of a #promposal -- with the help of the New York Jets.

Sarah Kardonsky of Division Avenue High School in Levittown asked her friend, Michael Pagano, to prom with a video proposal that featured some special guests.

"Mike Pagano, I knew you'd say 'yes' if I asked you to prom, but I thought I'd 'Jets' ask," Kardonsky says at the start of the 80-second video.

Several Jets players, including cornerback Antonio Cromartie and running back Bilal Powell, are in the video individually asking Pagano if he'll go to prom with Kardonsky.

"I got a quick question for you man, will you go to prom with Sarah?" wide receiver Shaquelle Evans says.

"I'm working out right now but I had to stop and ask you a quick question, will you go to prom with Sarah?" cornerback Dexter McDougle asks.

"My friend Sarah wanted to know if you will go to prom with her, I really think you should say yes," defensive tackle T.J. Barnes says in the video.

Wide receiver Chris Owusu even leans into the camera and whispers some advice for Pagano: "Say yes!''

Kardonsky, who posted the video on her Facebook page, presented the Jets-filled proposal to Pagano -- wearing a No. 24 Darrelle Revis jersey -- in class to cheers from other classmates.

"I thought to myself crazier things have happened. I might as well just try and reach out and see what happens," Kardonsky told 1010 WINS' Al Jones. "It just worked out great. And then I edited all that video -- I made that myself -- and then just gave it to him in the morning announcements."

Kardonsky said she reached out to the players through instagram.

"I was like, I need help with a prom proposal. My friend, Mike, has autism and he loves the Jets, and he would love it if you guys could help me out in any way," she said.

And, of course: Pagano said yes.

The Jets retweeted video of Pagano watching the proposal.
