Producer Harvey Weinstein Accused Of Groping 22-Year-Old Woman At Tribeca Office

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein has been accused of groping a woman in Tribeca sources told CBS2.

The alleged incident took place last Friday night at Tribeca Film Center on Greenwich Street.

A 22-year-old Italian woman told police she had a meeting with Weinstein at around 6:30 p.m., CBS2's Jessica Schneider reported.

Sources tell CBS2 Weinstein asked her if her breasts were real and then grabbed them, Schneider reported.

She asked him to stop and moved his hands away, she reported to police.

She claims Weinstein didn't relent. In her complaint, the young woman said Weinstein then tried to put his hand up her skirt and asked her for a kiss, Schneider reported.

The two did not know each other, according to sources.

Weinstein has been married to Georgina Chapman in 2007. She's the co-founder of fashion label Marchesa.

Weinstein is the co-founder of Miramax and produced a host of hit movies including "Gangs Of New York" and "Shakespeare In Love."

Police questioned Weinstein but he was released without any charges. The Manhattan DA declined to comment if their office will bring charges.

Weinstein's spokeswoman has not responded to our request for comment, Schneider reported.
