Reports: 'Honeymoon In Vegas' To End Broadway Run Early, Effective Sunday

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Less than three months after it officially opened, the Broadway production of "Honeymoon in Vegas" will close this coming Sunday, according to multiple published reports.

The final performance for the play starring Tony Danza, Rob McClure and Brynn O'Malley was announced by the producers Wednesday, according to reports in Broadway World, Broadway.com and other publications.

The play began performances at the Nederlander Theater, 208 W. 41st St., on Nov. 18 of last year, and officially opened to rave reviews on Thursday, Jan. 15, according to Broadway World. The play was staged at the Papermill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey in October 2013, the publication reported.

The play tells the story of Jack, a Brooklyn resident with an extreme fear of marriage who finally musters the courage to pop the question to his girlfriend, Betsy. But when a gambler named Tommy also falls for Betsy, Tommy has to go to extreme lengths to win her back.

As of Tuesday night, the official website for "Honeymoon in Vegas" still showed performances scheduled throughout April and May.

Anyone who purchased tickets for shows scheduled after Sunday through Ticketmaster will automatically be refunded or have their accounts credited, according to Broadway World. Others should contact the point where they bought the tickets for refunds, the publication reported.
