Bus Service Detoured Following Central Park West Water Main Break

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A Wednesday night water main break is still causing some traffic issues along Central Park West Thursday morning.

One lane in each direction is open along Central Park West between 95th and 97th streets, just in time for rush hour traffic, 1010 WINS' Glenn Schuck reported.

The water on the street has since dried up and subway service has resumed in the area, however bus service is still detoured.

At least three buildings were left without electrical power as a result of the 12-inch main break, but it did not appear that any residents lost power, the Department of Environmental Protection said Wednesday.

"I hope they fix it because I've been here the whole night and everyone wants to have a peace of mind while they're sleeping," one building superintendent told 1010 WINS' Glenn Schuck reported.
