NYPD: No Credible Threat Following New ISIS Video Threatening 9/11-Style Attack

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- As a precaution, NYPD counter terrorism units have blanketed various areas of New York City following a recent video put out by the terror group ISIS.

As 1010 WINS' Carol D'Auria reported, it's an 11 minute video and shows some of the most atrocious acts by ISIS, including road side bombings and the beheading of U.S. journalist James Foley.

The video also shows images of the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks on the World Trade Center.

The voice in the video says "America thinks it's safe because of its geographical location...But the dream of the American to have safety became a mirage," D'Auria reported.

The video's release follows a Twitter campaign that has threatened another 9/11-style attack on the U.S.

The NYPD has reviewed the video and said there is no current, specific or credible threat.

"We have reviewed the video and it is clear that New York City remains one of the top terror targets in the country. Although there is no current, specific or credible threat, as a precautionary measure, we have deployed our counterterrorism overlay to various areas around the city," the NYPD said in a statement. "The NYPD will continue to work with our federal law enforcement partners to ensure the safety and security of this city."
