Report: Off-Duty NYC Sanitation Worker Accused Of DWI With Child In Car

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An off-duty sanitation worker was arrested in Queens this week and charged with driving while intoxicated, reportedly with a child in the car.

Steven Shung, 39, was arrested at 7:33 p.m. Monday and was charged with DWI, acting in a manner injurious to a child, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Police did not provide further details. But a New York Post said police claimed that Shung had alcohol on his breath and was speaking incoherently when he was pulled over, and that his 5-year-old child was in the car with him.

Police said two small bags of marijuana, one small back of crack, and an empty Heineken bottle were also found in the car, the newspaper reported.
