4 Yorktown Campers Attacked By 2 Men With Baseball Bats

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are asking the public's help in finding two men who attacked four campers with baseball bats in Yorktown last Thursday.

The attack was not random and the victims were targeted, according to the Town Supervisor's office.

"Our investigation so far has revealed it's not a random attack," Police Lt. Thomas Gentner told 1010 WINS. "We're not concerned that this is an issue that the public needs to be alarmed about."

On April 16 at around 11:30 p.m., four people were camping in Sylvan Glen Park off Lexington Avenue near Route 202 in Yorktown when they were attacked by two unknown men with baseball bats, police said.

Three of the four victims were hospitalized for their injuries.

The suspects also damaged one of the camper's vehicles with their bats, police said.

A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered in connection with information leading to an arrest in this case.
