NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin got the scoring started in Game 1 of the series between the Caps and Rangers on Thursday night when he shot a laser past Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist in the first period.

Shortly after giving his team the lead, the superstar winger skated behind Lundqvist’s net and microphones caught him saying, “All series baby, all series.”

The goal was Ovechkin’s third of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
