Arrest Made In Case Of Stolen NY Islanders Glove From Nassau Coliseum

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police have made an arrest in connection with a New York Islanders glove that was taken from the bench area at the end of the team's final game at Nassau Coliseum last month.

Nassau County police said Matthew Kircheim has been charged with petit larceny in connection with the stolen glove.

The glove belonged to Isles veteran right wing Colin McDonald, CBS2's Tony Aiello reported.

The Islanders, who are moving to Brooklyn's Barclays Center next season, were eliminated in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs by Washington on the road two days after the April 25 incident.

Fans were eager to take home keepsakes from Nassau Coliseum. After an April 19 playoff game, some fans stole seats, cushions and seat backs.

Kircheim was released on an appearance ticket and is due back in First District Court on June 2.
