CBSNewYork And 1010 WINS Team With Animal Care & Control of NYC To Help Boost Pet Adoptions

New York (CBSNewYork) CBSNewYork.com and 1010 WINS have teamed up with Animal Care & Control of New York City to let you know about some of the adoptable animals looking for loving homes in the city’s shelters, and, where AC&C’s mobile adoption unit is headed with even more great pets.

This week, we’re featuring Meet Charlie, Alby and Marshmello.

Charlie (ID#: A1036585 – photo above) This handsome, approximately three-year-old boy is available for adoption at ACC’s Staten Island Care Center (3139 Veterans Road West). Charlie’s previous owner described him as friendly, affectionate, and playful with a medium activity level, and says he was gentle with the children he’s lived with. We’re also told he loves to receive baths and will jump in the tub on his own!

Alby (ID#: A1035283) Big beautiful Alby is about six years old and 23 pounds. A volunteer notes he “enjoys paw holding and head rubs. If you are looking for affection at all times of the day, this is the cat for you!” At his size, Alby qualifies for ACC’s “More of Me to Love” adoption promo: the adoption fee for cats 15 pounds and up is their weight subtracted from $25. Meet this love bug at ACC’s Brooklyn Care Center, 2336 Linden Boulevard.

Animal Care & Control of NYC (AC&C), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the only open-admissions animal shelter in New York City and takes in approximately 30,000 animals every year. AC&C’s  three Care Centers in Manhattan (326 East 110th Street), Brooklyn (2336 Linden Boulevard), and Staten Island (3139 Veterans Road West) are open for adoptions 12pm-8pm Monday thru Friday, and 10am-6pm Saturdays and Sundays.

If you’re interested in one of the animals featured here, email AC&C’s Adoption team at adoption@nycacc.org with the animal’s name and “A#”, or head directly to the Care Center where the animal is located. Please note, animals featured here may already be placed by the time you arrive, but there are hundreds of great cats, dogs, and rabbits looking for loving homes every day! You can view available animals online, and at the Care Centers, AC&C Adoption Counselors will help you find the best match.
