Police: Man Tries To Lure Girl Into Car With Candy In Mahwah

MAHWAH, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in New Jersey have released a sketch of a man wanted in an attempted child luring.

The incident occurred Tuesday evening in a townhouse complex in Margaret Court in Mahwah.

Police said the man asked a 9-year-old girl if she wanted some candy and then tried to lure her into his car -- possibly an old Mitsubishi Gallant.

When the girl said "no," the man grabbed her arm, police said.

The girl pulled away and escaped, CBS2 reported.

The suspect is described by police as a dark-skinned male in his late 30s, with a scar on the ride side of his face, and a gold or silver tooth in the front of his mouth, which was visible when he spoke.
