Amtrak engineer Brandon Bostian remains the focus of the crash investigation. Prosecutors are trying to determine whether a crime was committed and whether it can be established Bostian was reckless or negligent when the train approached a curve at 106 m.p.h.

Sen. Charles Schumer continues to demand full funding for Amtrak, 1010 WINS reported.

"If hard right Republicans continue to underfund Amtrak, just like the House Appropriations Committee did just after the crash, Amtrak will be forced to rob Peter to pay Paul," Schumer said.

Schumer says Amtrak should be given $2 billion in subsidies next year. A Republican bill would provide them with half that.
