Suspicious Package Investigation At Grand Central Terminal Snarls Metro-North Service On Getaway Day

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) - A police investigation of a suspicious package at Grand Central Terminal caused 20-30 minute delays on Metro-North Friday morning.

The investigation began at around 8:45 a.m. after a suspicious package was found on an inbound Metro-North train from New Haven.

The package was discovered when the conductor was doing a final check of the train, according to the Office of Emergency Management.

The lower level, which includes the food court and various train tracks, was shut down during the investigation.

Trains along the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines were running with delays.

The bomb squad inspected the package and gave the all clear by 10 a.m.

Trains were resuming normal service.
