2 Dogs Die In Fire At Veterinarian's Residence In Orange County
CHESTER, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A fire broke out Friday in the home of a veterinarian in Orange County, leaving three dogs dead.
As CBS2's Sonia Rincon reported, the fire broke out around 7 a.m., and gutted the home of veterinarian Mark Lane on New York State Route 17M in Chester. His office below sustained water damage, but was not burned.
Lane reported that two of his three dogs died in the fire and one more escaped. No other animals were there.
Authorities were investigating whether the fire was accidentally started by a cigarette.
