NEW YORK (WFAN) — New York Giants punter Steve Weatherford is counting his blessings after a hellish commute to Monday’s offseason workouts.
Weatherford, traveling back to East Rutherford after welcoming a newborn daughter on the West Coast, says he crashed into the median on the N.J. Turnpike during the early morning hours, totaling his rental car. But he somehow escaped without major injury and later tweeted a picture of himself at the Giants’ practice facility.READ MORE: 2nd Former Aide Accuses Gov. Weatherford told WFAN’s “Boomer & Carton” show that he hydroplaned after driving into “a pit of water” at about 65-70 mph.
“There’s no way that I would make it without an intervention from God,” he said. “It was unbelievable. As I’m spinning, my life is in slow motion, flashing before my eyes. It was the craziest thing to ever happen to me.”
