But nobody saw Ruby Rose, an Australian television personality, breaking into one of this culture's streaming phenomenons, "Orange Is the New Black."

Not usually heralded as an actress, Rose will make her debut on the third season of the prison dramedy when she plays the love interest of main characters Piper Chapman and Alex Vause (who themselves have been in a complicated relationship with each other these past two seasons). Since previews of this season first hit the web, many have wondered who the new cast member addition is.

Rose is the great-granddaughter of Alec Campbell, the last surviving Australian Battle of Gallipoli soldier, making her directly related to some serious Australian history.

Rose couldn't have gotten her start as an MTV VJ without engaging in some pretty wild stunts first. The Aussie went head-to-head against one of MTV's craziest personalities Bam Margera and also randomly kissed dozens of strangers on the streets of Sydney.
