Cops: Suspect Attacked Woman From Behind On Bushwick Street

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD has asked the public for help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a rape that took place in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn.

Just after midnight on June 12, a 36-year-old woman was walking along Star Street near Irving Avenue when she was approached from behind and grabbed by the waist.

The suspect threw the woman on the ground and sexually assaulted her with his hand. The victim physically resisted and screamed for help, police said.

A neighbor shouted from his window and the suspect fled the location. The woman was taken to Woodhull Hospital where she was evaluated and released.
