Innocent Bystander Injured In Coney Island Double Shooting

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Two people, including an innocent bystander, were shot during what neighbors called an "ongoing drug war."

The shooting happened around 3 p.m. Sunday at 2753 West 33rd Street, across from the Gravesend Houses in Coney Island.

Both an 18-year-old and an 68-year-old bystander were injured in the shooting.

The people who live in the 13-story building, not far from the Coney Island boardwalk, are fed up with all the drug-gang-related gunfire, 1010 WINS' Gary Baumgarten reports.

They say the shooting is a result of an ongoing feud.

"Boy shot. Ran that way," one neighbor said. "Threw the gun in the car and the old man, I guess, when they were shooting he got hit. He was just walking and he already crippled. He already crippled."

Both are expected to recover.
