Police: Vehicle Sought In Nanuet Hit-And-Run That Seriously Hurt Worker

NANUET, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a vehicle that they say was involved in a hit-and-run in Nanuet that seriously injured a man working on the roadway.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. on June 9.

Police said workers were repairing a natural gas cap on Second Avenue when a vehicle ignored a flagman who was standing on the corner of Second Avenue and Clinton Avenue, striking a worker who was bent down in the road making the repairs.

The worker, 49-year-old Arthur Babcock, suffered broken bones and lacerations all over his body, police said.

The vehicle was seen on surveillance video in the area.
