Worker Installing Irrigation Pump In Blue Heron Lake In Westchester Drowns

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) --  A day at work on the water in Westchester County ended in tragedy Thursday.

A man's body was pulled from Blue Heron Lake in Pound Ridge in Westchester County at around 3:15 p.m.

Chopper 2 was over the scene earlier as crews were frantically searching for the victim, CBS2's Cindy Hsu reported.

The man was installing an irrigation pump in the lake when he vanished at around 2 p.m. He was unable to swim after he fell in, 1010 WINS reported.

He had been working with another man who saw him slip under the water, Hsu reported.

Rescue crews raced to the scene and put boats in the water to search for him.

New York State Police identified the victim as Alejandro Limon Garcia, 31. His death was classified as accidental, 1010 WINS reported.
