JPP's 'Finger' Makes An Appearance At ESPYs

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Talk about adding insult to injury.

Joel McHale spared no one in his yuk-fest to kick off Wednesday night's ESPY Awards, including New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, whose right index finger was amputated last week following a July 4 fireworks accident.

The host "introduced" Pierre-Paul toward the end of his monologue as the camera panned to this:

McHale also brought New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski in on the bit.

"Gronk, don't eat it," he said of the severed finger, propped on a pillow with a Super Bowl ring. "Don't eat it, Gronk!"

Then one more crack for good measure: "Not one, but two NFL players blew their fingers off in fireworks accidents this summer. You know who's not dumb enough to hold a lit firecracker? All women!"

What did you think of the JPP jokes? Funny or too soon?
