NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away Sunday at the age of 22, the family confirmed to CBS2.
Bobbi Kristina is the daughter of the late entertainer Whitney Houston and R&B singer Bobby Brown. Her death comes about 7 months after she was found face-down and unresponsive in a bathtub. “Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away Sunday, July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”
Police said she was found Jan. 31 in the suburban Atlanta town home she shared with Nick Gordon, the man she called her husband. A police report described it as a “drowning.”
Bobbi Kristina was the only child between Houston and Brown.
CBS2’s Alice Gainer looks into the life of Bobbi Kristina, who was born March 4, 1993 in Livingston, New Jersey to Houston and husband, “New Edition” and R&B singer Bobby Brown. But their music and their marriage eventually fell apart with alcohol and drug addiction a problem for both.
In 2005, Bobbi Kristina’s parents shared that family’s downward spiral on reality TV. They divorced in 2007.
On February 11, 2012, Houston was found dead in a bathtub in her Beverly Hills hotel suite. The coroner said cocaine and heart disease contributed to the 48-year old’s death. Bobbi Kristina, overwhelmed with grief was taken to an LA hospital.

The aspiring singer live in Atlanta and recently said 25-year-old Nick Gordon was her husband. But her father says Gordon and Bobbi Kristina were not married.
Police say Gordon and a friend found Bobbi Kristina and that he was reportedly giving her CPR when police arrived. She was hospitalized and put into a medically-induced coma and remained on life support for the next seven months.
Celebrities took to social media to share their grief and send their condolences to her family.
