Actor, Director Jason Alexander, Not Of 'Seinfeld' Fame, Arrested On Child Porn Charges

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- It's not who you may think.

Jason Alexander, of Dobbs Ferry, has been arrested in connection with possession and file-sharing of child pornography, Westchester County DA Janet DiFiore announced Wednesday.

An investigator from DiFiore's office downloaded child pornography from an IP address in Westchester County which was later determined to be from Alexander's home, officials said.

A search warrant was executed at Alexander's home.

An examination of computers and external hard drives taken from the home revealed digital files of children who are less than 16 years of age engaged in child pornography, DiFiore's office said.

Alexander was arraigned Wednesday in Dobbs Ferry Village Court.

Bail was set at $10,000 cash. His next court date is Nov. 19

He faces a maximum sentence of seven years in state prison if convicted.

Alexander, who goes by the name Jace, is the son of Tony and Emmy award-winning actress Jane Alexander. He is an actor and director best known for "Law & Order," "Rescue Me," and "Carry Me Home," according to IMDB.com.

He is not the actor with the same name best known for his role of George Costanza on "Seinfeld."
