Hipster Shelter Animals Up For Adoption At First Ever Brooklyn Adoptapalooza
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) Where can you adopt a hipster dog? Why, Brooklyn, of course!
Adoptapalooza, one of the Big Apple's largest pet adoption events is coming to Brooklyn, Saturday August 1st between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
This rain or shine event is being billed as "Perfect Pets In Prospect Park and will be held inside the park at Bartel-Pritchard Square (15th Street and Prospect Park West).
Adoptapalooza Comes To Brooklyn

Adoptapalooza is presented by the Alliance for NYC's Animals in partnership with The Petfinder Foundation, and will feature more than 150 dogs, cats and rabbits.
"Every year, Adoptapalooza, our mega-pet-adoption-event, helps raise awareness about why it's so important to adopt from a rescue group or shelter", says Alliance President Jane Hoffman. "Many of the homeless animals in shelters and rescue groups in New York have had a tough journey and the Alliance is committed to giving them a chance to find a safe and happy home. We are thrilled to bring Adoptapalooza to Brooklyn for the first time. We know that Brooklynites will open their hearts and homes to these wonderful pets."
Fifteen different Alliance Participating Organizations, including pet shelter and rescue organizations, will be on site - each offering very special animals in search of their forever homes. Adoption fees vary by group.
