Police: Man Groped Woman Outside Upper East Side Building

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching Wednesday for a suspect who allegedly groped a woman as she walked into a building on the Upper East Side.

Around 4 a.m. Saturday, July 18, the 25-year-old woman was walking into the building near 89th Street and York Avenue when the suspect walked up from behind and grabbed her buttocks and crotch, police said.

The suspect then ran off on 89th Street toward York Avenue, police said.

There were no injuries reported.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 28 and 35, standing about 5 feet 9 to 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds, and wearing a Yankee baseball cap, a dark blue short-sleeved shirt and dark blue jeans.

Police have released surveillance video.
