Yankees-Red Sox Series Ticket Prices Reasonable On Primary, Secondary Markets

Provided by TiqIQ

The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox are on opposite ends of the spectrum as they prepare for a huge clash starting August 4. Boston rests at the bottom of the competitive AL East after struggling mightily as of late, while the Yanks hold a commanding lead over the rest of the division thanks to a recent stretch that has seen them win quite frequently. The two bitter division rivals won’t be worrying about records or places in the standings when they meet for their next three-game series, however, as over 100 years of intense competition will be enough to fuel the fire.

While the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry needs no extra hype, fans will still be wanting to get in on the thrilling action. If the series didn’t already stand on its own for the history involved, then perhaps fans will get excited for two of MLB’s most potent offenses going up against each other. Alex Rodriguez, Brett Gardner, Brian McCann and Mark Teixeira bring the heavy bats for the Yanks, while David Ortiz, Pablo Sandoval and Hanley Ramirez hope to be on top of their game when these two teams hit the field at Yankee Stadium.

History and explosive offense are the name of the game for this early August battle, as New York tries to widen the gap atop the division, while Boston simply just wants to stay in the race for an AL Wild Card berth. Fans can find great value for tickets on the primary market, as Yankees tickets still remain directly from the team and Ticketmaster for the rivalry series.

Yankees tickets are also available on the secondary market, in many instances with prices higher than primary, with the series opener costing just $93.10 on average, and the get-in price being $24. Game two sees the smallest of spikes, being $95.68 on average, yet is still just $25 to get in the door. In the finale on August 6, there is another spike, with the average ticket price being $101.89, while the get-in price once again has settled in at $24.

Tickets to see the Yankees and Red Sox square off exhibit an even clearer picture of the value to be had in this series when the season averages for both teams are closely examined. Tickets drop roughly $50 from New York’s season average for each meeting, while each game is a minimum of $5 less than the average price of Boston Red Sox tickets in 2015.

New York will enter this showdown with a good amount of confidence, as they’ve already taken six of nine battles against the Bo Sox this year. On the flip side, Boston will badly need to take this series if they have any hopes of a late magical run to the playoffs. A sweep would also net them a season tie with the Yanks and potentially could give them the momentum to go on a furious run in August. Regardless of the outcome, fans can expect quite the offensive show, as the first nine games yielded a whopping 93 total runs in all.
