Suspect Charged In Robbery, Attack On Man In Two Bridges

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect was arrested this week in an attack on a man in broad daylight in the Two Bridges section of Lower Manhattan.

Kenny Feliz, 20, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with second-degree robbery, police said.

Around 2:20 p.m. Sunday, a 37-year-old man was sitting on a bench at Catherine Slip and South Street, when a suspect approached and ripped his cellphone from his hand, police said. The site is near the Alfred E. Smith Houses public housing development.

The man tried to chase the suspect when a second man hit him from behind and pushed him to the ground, police said.

The suspects then ran off, police said.

The incident happened near the location where another man was robbed of a Citi Bike on Monday, July 20. At 9:15 p.m. that day, two suspects knocked him to the ground, stole his bike, his cellphone and wallet containing credit cards.

The victim suffered injuries to his head and left elbow, police say.

The suspects later used his credit cards at several locations including a McDonald's restaurant, located at 52 Fulton St.
