Police: Suspect Held Up Dunkin' Donuts Locations On UWS, In Washington Heights

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching Friday for a robber who held up two Dunkin' Donuts locations on Broadway – one on the Upper West Side, the other in Washington Heights.

The first robbery happened around 7:51 p.m. this past Tuesday at the Dunkin' Donuts at 3833 Broadway, near Fort Washington Avenue and 159th Street.

The suspect brandished a razor blade and ordered the 25-year-old worker to open the cash register. The worker did so, and the suspect took about $400, police said.

In the second incident around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, the suspect walked into the Dunkin' Donuts at 2661 Broadway, near 101st Street, and again took out a razor blade while ordering the 19-year-old worker to open the register, police said.

The victim complied, and the suspect took $757 and ran off, police said.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male about 25 years old, standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with black hair and a muscular build. He was last seen wearing Ray Ban sunglasses and a gray T-shirt.

Police have released surveillance video from the second incident.
