NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Donald Trump’s latest comments have cost him an invitation to speak at a high-profile meeting of conservative activists Saturday in Atlanta.

A remark about Megyn Kelly of Fox News got Trump scolded by the Republican party and the organizers of the RedState Gathering, CBS2’s Andrea Grymes reported.

“If you haven’t heard, I disinvited Donald Trump,” Erick Erickson, RedState.com Editor, announced.

Trump lashed out at Kelly for her questions during Thursday’s Republican presidential debate.

“She gets out and she starts asking me all sorts of ridiculous questions, and, ya know, you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever,” Trump said earlier.

Erickson called the comment inappropriate — and one that crossed the line of decency.

“Mr. Trump went on twitter and said I’m a weak and pathetic leader, which is okay, I actually think it’s really weak and pathetic to take a tough question from a journalist and assume she’s having her period and that’s why she asked you a tough question,” Erickson said.

Trump’s campaign released a statement, calling Erickson a “total loser” and making no apologies saying:

“Mr. Trump said ‘blood was coming out of her eyes and whatever’ meaning nose, but wanted to move on to more important topics. Only a deviant would think anything else.”

Trump has been very vocal since Thursday night’s debate, not happy with FOX News, specially Megyn Kelly who grilled him on switching political parties as well as his comment about women.

Others appearing at the gathering today include former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.
