New Jersey Man Accused Of Massaging Lifeguards' Feet Faces Harassment Charge

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Middlesex County man was charged with harassment for touching and massaging the feet of several lifeguards, police said.

A 16-year-old lifeguard at the Nassau Square Clubhouse pool off Route 27 told police she was on duty when a man sat down next to her and began touching her feet on Aug. 3.

The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Lawrence Malapitan, allegedly told the girl he was starting a foot massage company.

The lifeguard told Malapitan to stop and took a cellphone picture of his car as he left the pool, police said. She told officers the Monmouth Junction resident had done the same thing to her three weeks earlier but didn't report the incident because she didn't think the suspect would come back, police said.

South Brunswick detectives then learned Franklin Police had arrested a man at an apartment complex for the same offenses.

Detectives were able to link Malapitan to the South Brunswick incidents.
