WATCH: 'Rally Parakeet' Brings The Mojo For Cespedes, Mets

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- "Where do you belong, little parakeet?"

A bright yellow bird mysteriously made its perch Wednesday night on the backstop at Citi Field, to the delight of New York Mets fans, players and SNY's broadcast booth.

The "Rally Parakeet" had a front-row view as the Mets scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning against the Colorado Rockies. In the eighth, it watched as slugger Yoenis Cespedes, in a matching neon armband, rounded the bases following his first home run with New York.

"I just used (the armband) because I know there was a bird in the field and I just want to look like the bird," Cespedes said after the 3-0 win, according to the Mets' official website. "Maybe it would bring me some luck."

It did.

"I knew it was on the fence, so I was searching for a fence myself," Cespedes said.

The NL East-leading Mets will be going for a four-game sweep of the Rockies on Thursday afternoon.
