Tanker Truck Driver Hospitalized After Fuel Spill On I-287 Ramp In Hanover Twp.

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- The driver of a tanker truck was hospitalized late Sunday morning, after a fuel spill shut down a ramp off Interstate 287 in Hanover Township, New Jersey.

The accident happened Sunday morning on the ramp at Route 24 westbound and Interstate 287 southbound, New Jersey State Police told WCBS 880.

The driver of the tanker truck was taken to Morristown Medical Center, state police said.

Fuel spilled onto the roadway, and the ramp was expected to be closed for a while, state police said.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation was putting up signs for drivers, and traffic delays were reported. Traffic was being directed onto alternate ramps.
