Eli Manning On WFAN: I'm Focused On Giants, Not Contract
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Eli Manning has never seemed concerned about his contract situation.
Entering the final season of his deal, the Giants' quarterback told WFAN's Mike Francesa on Monday he's confident that he will eventually work something out with the only organization he's ever known.
"It's not important to me. I gotta do a job. I'm working and making sure this team is going in the right direction and we win more games and we have success and we get back to making the playoffs and that's important to me, that's what I'm focused on," Manning said.
"If there are discussions going on, I'm not in those discussions. I just don't think there's a whole lot of point worrying about it," he added. "I got things I have to do, get ready for practice every day and that's what I'm focused on."

New York reportedly wants to have the two-time Super Bowl champion signed to an extension before the season begins. But time is running out -- the opener against the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium is on Sept. 13 -- and it appears that the two sides have some work to do.
According to the New York Daily News, there is a "significant gap" between what Manning's camp thinks the veteran is worth and what Giants management is willing to pay him.
"We're just going through the usual things that you go through," co-owner John Mara told reporters at the start of training camp. "The agent asks for the moon, we make a reasonable offer, and at some point he'll come to his senses and we'll reach an agreement."
Manning was brilliant for New York in 2014, completing 63.1 percent of his passes for 4,410 yards, and throwing 30 touchdown passes and just 14 interceptions.
With a year of Ben McAdoo's offense under his belt and full seasons expected from star receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz, Manning might even be more successful in 2015.
