MUST LISTEN: Joe B Comes Unglued Over The Fictitious Baseball Stat 'FLUMP'

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- As we all know, it doesn't take much to set Joe Benigno off. And as listeners found out on Friday, the stuff doesn't even need to be real.

The WFAN host fell victim to a clever prank by co-host Gregg Giannotti, producer Brian Monzo and associate producer Chris McMonigle that quickly degenerated into audio gold.

Benigno isn't the biggest fan of advanced stats, or sabermetrics to you stat geeks online, so Giannotti, Monzo and McMonigle put together a fake story about a new stat said to be used in Major League Baseball to assess pitchers.

It's called "Femoral Leverage Under Max Pressure," and Benigno quickly took the bait, launching into a tirade against all the baseball officials mentioned in the article, including Oakland Athletics general manager Billy Beane, Washington Nationals GM Mike Rizzo and former Mets pitching coach Rick Peterson.

FLUMP, the gift that keeps on giving. Have a listen:
